*Thane recruited his buddy, Joe, to help him clean trash cans Labor Day morning. Joe's a hard-working kid and was happy to share in the labor and in the payment.
*When the trashcans were clean, the boys moved inside to more technical enterprises: Lego Mindstorm building and coding.
*This was Nellie's first attempt at writing her name. I love first writings!
*The sass is strong with this one! She was pretty proud of "doing" her own hair.
*Thane came up with this Lego design based on a smaller minifigure he owns. I was super impressed!
*One September Friday we met up with the Dance's to visit Northwest Trek. I don't love the drive out there, but it's always fun to visit with friends who have never gone before.
Jackson is always SO great about buddying up with Graham despite the 6 year age gap.
The whole crew posing for picture!
The kids always look forward to free time at the end playing at the playground. This time around they decided it was time for a human pyramid.
*We managed to use our free swim passes from Play Unplugged a couple of times.
*Normally our Stake hosts a Fun Run in June, but this year they moved it to September. The attendance was much lower (so I think they'll move it back to June), but it was a lovely day to be outside.
Thane was thrilled to be able to run the 5K and managed to beat Bryce and Mark. He finished in just over 31 minutes.
Bryce came in just a couple minutes after Thane. He has an awesome finishing kick every time he runs.
*Even though he was running with Thane, Mark ended up being one of the top finishers in his age category.
*Nellie had a playdate with her friend Zoey, and Zoey's mom sent me this adorable shot.
*We attended a homeschool day at a local art museum.
The kids had a fun time getting to do a variety of art projects with their friends.
*Our Stake designated September "Indexing Month" and issued a challenge to see which ward could index the most records. Well, the word "challenge" brought out our competitive spirit! Aubree and some of her friends especially took up the torch. They met at school during lunch to index and even organized indexing parties. Aubree ended up indexing over 8,000 records during the month. She had the second highest amount among the stake youth (her friend Andrew got 30,000!). Our ward indexed over 95,000 records during the month and creamed all the other wards. Ha!
*And last, but most definitely not least, Mark turned 40! This milestone should probably warrant it's own post, but that's not Mark's style. He prefers to be in the background, working hard, being consistent and loyal and fabulous. For his big day, he opted to spend extra time working on his music collection. We got him air pods to better listen to music, audio books, and podcasts.
