Aubree's 14th birthday

Aubree is young for her grade, so she was five weeks into high school when she turned fourteen. Her actual birthday fell on a very busy Wednesday, so her birthday celebrations spread out over the course of a week.
The weekend before her birthday happened to be Homecoming. I took her and a friend to the football game. She had absolutely no interest in watching the game, but went to support friends who played in the pep band.
The next day, Aubree and a couple friends hosted a "Not Hoco" party. They met in Zariah's family's newly built barn, had treats and a bonfire, and watched Princess Bride.
Honestly, I'm not sure they watched much of the movie, but it was definitely an eventful and overly silly evening.
Sunday we had Katie's family over for dinner and dessert to celebrate Aubree and Jordyn. Aubree chose corn chowder and french bread because it's a favorite with both our families.
On her actual birthday, Aubree curled her hair for school (she hates this picture, but it's the only one I got of her curls).
She also helped make pumpkin cookies and brought a huge bowl full of them to share with friends at school.
That afternoon she had a "home" (at a nearby park) cross country meet.

We really enjoyed embarrassing her as she ran.
She handled it all with a smile.
The kids kept themselves occupied petting a friend's dog while waiting for the races to finish.
Aubree chose to go out to eat at Habit Burger. She likes her burgers with nothing but cheese, but really likes getting a shake.
Her birthday week turned out to be very exciting. It was a wild start to her 14th year (which, now that it's March, is proving to live up to it's start).
Aubree is stellar! She's intelligent, enthusiastic, confident, capable, and really, really loves to plan a good party. She loves friends, books, writing, performing, and music. She has a bright future.
