Aunt Sue came to visit the weekend before Halloween. We picked her up from the airport and jumped over to spend a few hours at the Museum of Flight.
I think Bryce could stay and watch planes take off and land for hours.
One of the things we noticed was how small all the astronaut suits looked!
My kids spent more time waiting underneath the ball gravity bin than any other activity of the day.
That night was our Ward Halloween party. Mark took Aubree to a violin performance, so Sue braved the dinner/carnival/trunk-or-treat with me.
That worked out well because the kids were off in multiple directions.
We did managed to slow Graham down just long enough to capture his post-cotton candy face.
Nellie found a costume twin.
My mom made this Dorothy costume for Aubree when Aubree was two. Nellie is a whole lot bigger than Aubree though, and I could barely zip it up in the back!

When it came time to trunk-or-treat (on a surprisingly warm and dry evening), Nellie stayed at the car with me to hand out glow sticks, Bryce took Graham around, and Thane stuck with Sue.
Before she left, Sue did her traditional auction for the kids. Since it had been just a month from her previous visit, this time she brought gourds and tiny pumpkins!
The following week, Halloween again dawned unseasonably warm and dry.Aubree went trick or treating with friends from co-op.
We met up with neighbors and the kids loved having their friends with them as they ran from house to house.

Nellie and I came home after two blocks. Mark and the boys, plus Asher and Emerie, circled the nearby neighborhood. Despite the night being warmer than normal, they all still came home freezing cold, especially Thane who had only worn sandals. They thawed themselves by sorting candy.
Sooooooooo much candy!
Oh, Graham became quite the expert at drawing jack-o-lanterns during October. I had scores of papers decorated just like this one.
