I need to write a "Nellie-at-two" post, since she had her birthday a couple weeks ago, but I found this post in the draft file and thought perhaps I should finish the "old stuff" before jumping to the new...
* At church, Nell loved to pretend to lead the music in sacrament meeting. It was a great way to distract her for at least a few minutes. Sometimes she still likes to lead, and will grab my hand, wrap it around her wrist, and insist I move her arm through the correct motions.
* Nellie LOVES to draw. This has been true for a long time. As a youngin' she demanded only pencils or pens. Now she will tolerate crayons, but what she really wants is markers. She also loved to draw on white boards.
* There is no where Nellie would rather be than outside.
* Most of my babies, when they would wake in the early morning hours, would nurse and then stay cuddled in bed with my for the rest of the night. Not Nell. She really didn't prefer to sleep with me, which was a bit rude of her seeing as she was my last baby, don't you think?
* Her favorite word for a long time was "see?!"

* Shortly past the one-year old age, she loved jackets, pajamas, and anything with zippers. Funnily, she loved to find gloves or oven mitts and keep them on her hands.
* She also loved Nellie-sized chairs. Once, we went on a tour of our local library, and Nellie caught sight of the little chairs. From that point on, she refused to leave that section of the library (well, at least not without significant tantrumming).

* Nellie loved to give similar-sized toddlers big hugs - whether they liked it or not!
* Like her siblings and all toddlers before her, Nellie embraced her mess-making talents. She was especially fond of pulling out all tupperware, lids, and book.
* Nellie has always loved shoes, which is a bit strange because I don't care one whit about shoes.
* Nell is officially a Winters child in that she loved to look at, carry, (and eat) books.
* Of all my children, Nellie was the latest walker. It's been long enough that I don't remember how old she was when she started, but the notes here in this blog post assure me that she was the latest.
* I often found myself thinking, "Nellie is the happiest grumpy child I've ever seen." Yes, I know that's a paradox. No, I can't really explain what I mean, but it's totally true.
