Night of the Notables

Last week was Aubree's 5th grade Night of the Notables presentation. This year she chose another author (no shock there), Jane Austen! Aubree loves everything that goes into preparing for Night of the Notables - the research, the writing, the art, and especially the dressing up. We found this perfect blue dress at Goodwill, and Aunt Kira helped take it in so it fit her.  Awesome!

Just as we finished Aubree's hair and were getting ready to leave, Graham fell off the edge of the tub where he'd been sitting watching, and landed on his face. Ouch!

A couple hours later.

 Talking to all the kids, seeing them all dressed up, and learning about their characters is so much fun.

The night culminates with the students presenting their bio-riddles. Three years into this, Aubree has no fear.  She really enjoys being on stage, and she did a fabulous job.

While we were waiting to go in for the bio-riddle presentations, Thane crashed and burned and ended up with a bloody knee.  He and Graham made quite the pair.

As we were driving home, Aubree commented, "I know I should be glad it's over, but I'm not.  I wish I could do it all again in the Spring!"
