You Never Can Tell With Bees (or kids)

Last week, while walking around the living room, Bryce suddenly screamed and fell over onto the couch.  "Aahhhhh," he wailed, "I stepped on a staple!"
Closer examination revealed the culprit was actually a needle carelessly left out by an older sister.  I pulled the needle out, but the pain was obviously acute and resulted in expected tears and wails.
What I did not expect was Thane's hysterical reaction.  "Me not want Bryce to step on a needle!  Blaaaaahhhhhhhhh!"  For a few moments I honestly could not tell who was more upset (and thus decided to pull out my camera to document their misery).
**********
Here are a few other recent interactions:
Bryce: "Thane, remember, you get what you get, and you don't throw a fit."
Thane: "No! Me get, and me get, and me DO throw a fit."
*********
Bryce: "Dad, what makes a volcano interrupt?"
 *********
Thane on our recent apple picking adventure: "Can me carry my rainbrella?"
*******
A few months back, at the start of the kids' swimming lessons...
Thane: "Is me going to melt?"
Me: "No."
Thane: "Why not?"
Me: "Uh, because you're not a wicked witch?" (and no, he's never seen the Wizard of Oz, he's just random like that)
 ********
And not to leave Aubree out...
While discussing an upcoming Veteran's Day Assembly at her school, "I don't know any vetritarians!"
