Obligatory Pumpkin Patch Pics

In an effort to be somewhat festive, we took our kids to the pumpkin patch this afternoon.  It was our first time ever visiting an actual pumpkin patch instead of just a pumpkin pile.  We learned pretty quickly that we wore the wrong shoes.
All the kids knew ahead of time exactly what they wanted. Bryce was looking for a "pretty big pumpkin to carve."  It didn't take him long at all to find "his" pumpkin.
Aubree was looking for one she, "could definitely carry," that was round and had a "just-right" stem.  When we drove into the parking lot and she saw the vast field, she commented, "I'll never find my pumpkin in there!"
She then proceeded to prove herself right, but not before she first traipsed us all up, down, and around the fields.  "Too big, stem's too long, no stem, too muddy, too green, not round enough..."  Turns out she found her perfect pumpkin in a pumpkin pile after all.
We couldn't resist the standard photo-op.  Despite the looks on their faces which might suggest otherwise, this picture was their idea.
Thane wanted a "yittle" pumpkin.  Those were also in the pumpkin piles at the entrance, but he happily plodded along through the fields helping his siblings look for pumpkins.  Well, until he stepped in a mud puddle and got his shoes and socks all wet.  Then he wasn't so happy.
In the end everyone found exactly the pumpkin they had been seeking and left feeling successful.
Now if we could just convince Thane that his "yittle" pumpkin is not a ball and shouldn't be thrown...
What about Graham?  He was there, of course, bundled up tight and warm (did I mention it was cold?) in my wrap.  He slept the whole trip.
back in his car seat, ready to head home
