Did I mention that Bryce has a pet? His name is "Ruffer" (though is sounds more like "Woofer"). Ruffer has been Bryce's side-kick for a few weeks now. He sleeps at the foot of Bryce's bed and knows "this many" (imagine Bryce holding up all of his fingers) tricks, but is shy so he won't do them all in front of strangers.
The tricks he will perform include: lying flat, and sliding on his belly down the stairs.
Ruffer? He's a backpack with a string attached "leash."
Ruffer's just our kind of pet.
