We did not make it out to Royal City this summer (imagine a crying emoji here), but we still managed to squeeze in a lovely day with the Franks. We met in Suncadia, a mid-point for both of us, and spent a gorgeous (but windy) day playing outside.
The Frank kids couldn't wait to introduce my kids to the "Whirlpool pool."
I've never seen a pool quite like this one. It spirals lazy-river style, but in the middle is a tame whirlpool. The kids couldn't get enough.
Well, except when they got cold, then they scurried over to the huge hot tub to warm up, before getting right back into the whirlpool.
Time with Ashlee, even when brief, is good for my soul. She has a way of cutting straight to the heart of matters. I always come away way with new nuggets of insight and wisdom.
Our goal moving forward is to be more intentional about scheduling time to get together, because when we don't plan ahead, we're left squeezing in one afternoon late in the summer, and that's not enough for any of us.
