Girl's Camp #1, by Aubree

Last year I was not old enough to go to girls camp in Washington, but all my friends were. Luckily, the Morris' offered to take me with them to California Girl's Camp, where they used to live and went back to every year for girls camp so I could get my level one certification and be a level 2 with my friends the next year. It was the best, so they took me again this year.
The worst part of it, however, is the drive. Luckily, we managed to sleep through most of it.

We arrived in California late Saturday night in order to go to church the next day and get health checks. We stayed at a very generous friend's house. Audrey and I got to sleep on the couch-bed.
There are six levels to girls camp. In California, each has a special responsibility or hike.
First Years- Easy 2 or so mile hike through water
Second Years- 5 mile overnighter on the beach
Third Years- 2 nights, 3 days, 23 miles
Fourth Years- Kayak trip
Fifth Years- Switch Wards & do devotionals
Sixth Years- Basically be leaders
This year I was a second level, so me and five other girls, four of which were in our group last year, got to go to the beach. We rock climbed on the rocks, swam, hiked, slept under a tarp, had raccoons steal our food, made smores, and basically formed a tight friendship.
Left to Right: Jasmine, Brinnely, Emily, Audrey, and Me (missing Michealanne)

As part of your hike, every group makes up a song or skit that represents what happened. We chose two Taylor Swift songs we adjusted to perfectly fit our experiences.

Now, they weren't the only friendships formed/renewed. We camped by ward in cabins, and my cabin was the best. Also, since the stake is so much smaller than in Washington, you really get to know everyone.

Girls camp is by far my favorite part of the summer, and I'm super glad I get to do it twice every year!
