It's not easy to get seven people to cooperate, especially with three silly boys and one opinionated 2-year old, but somehow Andrea makes it seem easy.
She also has a knack for finding beautiful, yet local, picture taking locations. We'd never before visited this spot on the river, even though it's only 3 miles from home.
I was nervous about Nellie, especially since she completely refused to cooperate when we did extended family pictures earlier this summer in Utah, but Andrea managed to charm her into participation.
In fact, Nellie ended up being one of our best participators. She had her own ideas about where she wanted to stand or sit, and how she wanted to pose, but pose she did! What a relief.
Getting the pictures back and seeing that they turned out well was also a relief to me. No doubt, I am NO fashion expert. Pulling together coordinating outfits is always an exercise in ridiculousness.
This time around, on the day before pictures were scheduled, I only had three shirts - mine, Mark's, and Thane's. Goodwill for the win! Nothing like waiting till the very last minute.
Nellie - 2 years old.
Graham, 5 years old, is always quick to smile, but has recently forgotten how to smile naturally for a camera. It took a lot of distraction to get these "normal" shots.
Thane, 7 years old, usually hates to get his picture taken, but was a surprisingly good sport this time around. I'm sure it helped that we promised the kids popsicles in reward for good behavior.
Bryce, 9 years old, prefers to make silly faces, but it so photogenic.
Aubree, almost 12 (yikes!), has always worn her long hair down for family pictures, but this year wanted it braided. I was skeptical, but WOW! Her pictures turned out stunning.
Mark and I - no spring chickens!
Do you like how Bryce is pulling Nell's hair in this shot?
Despite all the wonderful shots Andrea managed to get, our photo session was remarkably short. Afterwards, we let the kids spend a few minutes throwing rocks into the river. Obviously, they had a bit of pent up energy.
