Love and War

Lately Aubree's been obsessed with writing: lists, messages, songs, and especially notes. Since we just celebrated Valentine's Day, love is apparently on her mind. Most of her notes are to friends or family members. On the right is a cute note she wrote to our elderly neighbor, Mary Jo.
Today she was given a little Hello Kitty notepad and spent all afternoon writing notes. The most common phrase out of her mouth was, "Mom, how do you spell...?" After she went to bed, I found the pages of her book scattered across the computer desk. As I gathered them together, I came across this note:
In case you need translation, it says, "Randy. I love you Randy. Do you love me?" Uhh...
Now, Randy is a very nice boy, but it just so happens that he's 17 years old. Aubree has a "thing" for older, Hispanic boys. Her previous favorite guy (another handsome Latino) recently left on his mission.
Right now I'm just laughing, but maybe I should be worrying...

On a completely unrelated topic, there's been a quiet war raging in our home for the past month or so. You see, Mark has some (admitted) OCD tendencies. Mostly they're just little things - like books have to be aligned correctly on the bookshelves, drawers have to be pushed in, the spines of the DVDs have to all be facing the "right" way, etc. He never gets upset if these things aren't done, he just can't rest until he "fixes" them.
It seems Bryce, however, has his own opinion of how things "should" be. Every few days, Bryce wanders over to the DVD tower and turns the DVDs around so the black edges are showing. I rarely notice the change, but Mark does - every single time - and switches them back around. And so the battle rages on...

That is hilarious! Lily is also obsessed with who she is going to marry. Congrats on expecting, by the way! Arizona is not such a bad place to live...we will be here another year at least, which is of course, reason enough for you to relocate here!

Aubree is amazing. Does she ever get writers cramp? Bryce cracks me up, he is not sneaky, or quiet but stealthy. One boy you have to keep your eye on.
