Sans Salmonella, Please

Given the choice, I'd much rather eat cookie dough or brownie batter than their baked alternatives. My kids are sugar-fiends and will eagerly consume treats regardless of form, but if I'm mixing up something sweet there's sure to be at least one chirping little bird (Aubree) begging to share. Now, it's one thing to risk eating raw egg product yourself, but possibly poisoning your children? - well, that's trickier.
Enter "the solution." AKA "our new best friend" or "powdered eggs." I can't vouch for how good they'd taste scrambled, but they work great in mixes and *ta-da!* guilt-free dough consumption! (Well, maybe not totally guilt-free... they are still cookies...) Regardless, Aubree and Bryce thought it was fabulous.

Better safe than sorry. I just got a food recall notice from Costco on Nestle's cookie dough. Too bad we already ate all the cookie dough and I even ate some raw. Luckily, I didn't get sick. So if what you bought keeps kids from getting sick if they eat the dough raw, it is totally worth it. I may have to get me some as well.

Leave it to our Erin to figure out a solution to the problem! Good job Erin Green! As soon as I take a breath here in Jamaica I'll update my blog. We love you!!

Ooooh! I never thought about that! I knew I should have ordered a couple of cans of powdered eggs. Hmmm dough! I could even enjoy it while pregnant!
