Graham Turns 5!

Yesterday was Aubree's birthday. I'm way behind in my blogging, but we did celebrate Graham's birthday a month ago and had a grand old time. Last year, we tried to have an outside water/pool party for his 4th birthday. Unfortunately, the day of his birthday was cold and we had to boil water to add to the water in the pool so the kids didn't freeze!
This year, Graham's birthday fell on Labor Day, and it was a beautiful, hot day. We decided to try last year's activities over again, with much better results this time around.
It wasn't an official birthday party year, so we just invited the Harps and Coberlys to join us for the afternoon.
Graham was the King of Funny Faces every time I tried to take his picture.
The kids happily played outside in our tiny backyard. I can get used to this summer birthday thing.
Graham requested pizza for dinner. We got a lot!
For a long time, Graham couldn't think of what he wanted for his birthday cake. He thought he might want an elephant cake, like Nellie's, or perhaps a tiger cake, but then one day he had a brilliant thought and told Katie, "I want a Mount Rainier cake!"
Katie made the cake, but then brought chocolate rocks and allowed Graham to finish decorating by adding all the rocks. He loved that!
He got Lego's and a few toys for his gifts.
Graham is such a delightful human being! It's impossible to be around him for long without becoming lighter and happier. He loves friends, laughing, learning, and playing.
