Eggciting Easter

Easter egg hunts are so much fun, and provide some of my favorite photos of the year.
We missed last year's neighborhood Easter egg hunt.  Aubree informs me that the year before that (the inaugural year), each kid was limited to finding nine eggs each.  Apparently, things have changed dramatically since then!  There were eggs galore.
Thane and Graham participated in the 3-5 year old hunt, while Aubree and Bryce "competed" with the 6+ group.   Thane, as the oldest in the 3-5 group, quickly filled his bucket, emptied it into a plastic bag, and went back at it.  Graham was limited with a tiny basket, but followed Thane's lead.
The picture below makes it look like they took ALL the eggs, but the bag Graham is holding has all his and Thane's eggs, plus they hadn't yet emptied their eggs out, while most of the other kids already had done so.
Bryce kept his egg collection comparably smaller.  He explains this was because he was more interested in finding the golden egg.  The golden egg was hidden so well, it took 15 minutes after the hunt was finished (and some extra hints from the egg hider) before it was finally found (not by Bryce).
Aubree was obviously more interested in quantity.  After her bucket overflowed, she handed me eggs to fill my pockets.  Most kids had similar "problems."
Sunday morning I somehow managed to get at least the boys in matching/coordinating outfits.  Even more miraculously, I remembered to take a picture!  They're a good looking crew.
We ducked out of church early to make it up to Aunt Deanna's and Uncle Roy's for the traditional Easter festivities.  This is a highlight of the year for my kids.  If they thought the neighborhood hunt was spectacular, it didn't hold a candle to Aunt Deanna's!
Amazingly, we had another sunny Easter, and though the kids did have to maneuver around some intensely muddy patches, most of them finished their hunt relatively mud-free.
