Farm School 2015, by Aubree

Alternate Title: The Week Aubree Lived in a Swimsuit
In July, I got to go to the Frank's for six days.  It was amazing, like always!
One of my favorite parts is always picking potatoes.  We invented a new way of finding potatoes, which makes you find even more potatoes.  You dig around and you don't pull up the plants (because that takes too long), and you find a ton of potatoes.  We got one big Trader Joe's bag and one small paper bag full of potatoes.
I really like tubing, but the day we decided to go there was a fire that closed down the highway, so we decided to go Redneck Swimming.  Redneck Swimming is where there's a tarp in the back of the truck, and you fill up the back of the truck with water from the irrigation canals, which is very cold.
Tyson drives the truck around the farm and goes really fast, with sudden starts and stops, so it ends up splashing a ton.  It's really fun, but I still think I like tubing better.
When we were done, we went to the pond and the water felt really warm because the irrigation water was so, so cold (but usually the pond water feels cold).
Shaina, Jaylen's aunt, is a very good artist, so she showed us how to do some cool paintings.  We each chose a pattern and colors for background and then Shaina drew an animal and cut it out.  Then, we traced the animals onto our paintings.  I chose a penguin, because I really like penguins.
The finished products:
Before we did art, we went to the Frank's friend's house where they have two pools.  One is 1' deep, and the other is up to 2 1/2' deep.  Megan showed up and we played mermaids in the 1' pool.
Then, Megan came home with Jaylen and me, and we had a sleepover.  Megan had pajamas for her American Girl doll that matched with Jaylen's doll's pajamas.  Maggie let me borrow her doll's pajamas so all of our dolls were matching.
The next day we went to the pond to do some weeding.  Tyson was in charge, so after a few hours he took us to lunch - all 13 kids that were there!  He took us to a Burger place and he let us choose a partner to share a milkshake.  Maggie and I had caramel and it was way better than I expected.
During the week, Jaylen and Gracee learned "Lord, I Would Follow Thee." Jaylen played the piano, and Gracee learned the harmony on her flute.  I already knew how to do it on my violin, but I had left my violin at home.  So, when my mom came to pick me up at Suncadia, she brought my violin along and we did a concert for the people that were there.
In the end, it was super, super, super, super, super fun.  I look forward to it next year.
