Do the Puyallup

We have really enjoyed our yearly visits to the Puyallup Fair (though last year Graham and I were stuck in the hospital).  This year, all our Saturdays were booked up, and Aubree was distraught at the idea that we might go without her.  We compromised by pulling her out of school at lunchtime on Friday.  Mark took the day off work as well, and with perfect weather accompanying us, we had a great time!
No trip is complete without an ice-cream cone.
The kids love checking out all the animals.  This year no one complained about the smells.

Bryce and Thane were excited to drive mini tractors.
We caught a circus performance and all the kids agreed it was a highlight of the day.
Graham, however, was more interested in pulling Bryce's hair than watching the performers.  Speaking of Graham, despite my best efforts, he refused to nap the whole time we were there.  Too much neat stuff to see, I guess.
Aubree remembered a lot of the places she visited previous years.  Everytime we would come across a familiar area she would beg, "Oh, I really want to go there! It's my favorite!"  But, she insists that the hands-on Pioneer Farm exhibit is her real favorite.

churning butter (for much less than the necessary 30 minutes)
pumping water
As we were on our way out, we stopped at one last exhibit hall to see student artwork, and happened upon a CampFire Girls craft activity.  The kids all got to make their own edible fire.  Perfect ending.
And, not surprisingly, this was the end result for Graham.
